Lim Kooi Ling

Chief Executive Officer,

Gleneagles Hospital Penang

Lim Kooi Ling is the Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Penang, where she drives the hospital’s commitment to patient-centred care. She leads efforts to strengthen clinical and operational excellence, ensuring a trusted healthcare experience for patients.

She has 24 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, with a significant 15 years at Island Hospital. In 2022, she was appointed Chief of Staff with oversight for the hospital’s strategic development and quality assurance programmes, aligning them closely with long-term goals for sustainable growth and exceptional care. Lim was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2024.

Prior to that, Lim was Director of Medical Services where she was instrumental in managing the hospital’s specialty development and regulatory affairs, ensuring high standards across its medical practices while driving the hospital’s capacity expansion and growth in clinical services. An optometrist with a double Masters in Business Administration and Law, she began her career in the allied health sciences before joining Island Hospital in 2009 as a Pharmacy Manager.

In 2019, Lim received the prestigious Johnson & Johnson Trust’s grant for INSEAD’s Innovating Healthcare for Tomorrow, being the only Malaysian achieving this certification. She is widely published in the field of optometry with numerous international publications and book chapters in corneal topography and wavefront aberrometry between 2009 to 2013.
