Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur commenced operations on 1 August 1996.

Official opening of Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur by former Prime Minister, YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on 17 December 1997

The first hospital in Kuala Lumpur to received HALAL certification by the Jabatan Agama Islam WP.

Opening of the Executive Screening Centre on 24 May 1999.

Official launching of the Oncology Centre on 12 August 1999.

Introduction of Concierge Services in August 2000.

Introduction of Butler Services in Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur suite rooms.

Launching of the Diabetes Care Centre on 20 April 2002.

Our first Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accreditation.

Commission of the Multi-Slice CT (MSCT) scanner on 2 June 2004.

Official launch of the Vascular Interventional Radiology Suite & MRI scanner on 23 November 2006.

One of those special people is none other than our founding CEO, Puan Sri Professor Wong Hee Ong! Join us on a short trip down memory lane as she takes us through the humble beginnings of the hospital.

Do you remember what you were doing 25 years ago on this day?

For us at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, our first Coronary Angiogram was performed in the Cardiac Catheterisation Lab in 1996!

Since then, our Cardiac Catheterisation Lab has been busy with over 25,000 diagnostic and intervention cases (including paediatric ones) handled by our dedicated doctors and nurses over the past 25 years.

Did you know we’ve had more than 100,000 visits at our Oncology Centre over these 25 years?

Here’s a blast-from-the-past look at the launching ceremony of our treasured Oncology Centre in 1996. While we’ve touched many lives over our 25 years in healthcare, our journey is far from complete.

We look forward to helping many more lives with our passionate and dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff.

25 years ago, on this day, we helped our very first patient to deliver a strong, healthy baby boy at 1428 hours.

Since then, Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur has grown to become a household name for our dedication to providing unparalleled healthcare services to all walks of life.

In 2003, we received our very first The Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accreditation. Since then, we have strived to improve ourselves in providing quality healthcare services for everyone.

As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary this year, we would like to shine the light on our beloved staff members. For this #ThrowbackThursday, it is our pleasure to introduce you to one of GKL's most dedicated staffs, Ms Yong Yoke Chin.

25 years in a company may seem like a long time. But not to this GKL Assistant Nurse Manager. Ms Yong has been with us since 1995, and despite the long years, she has not lost her joy and passion for helping the sick.

From working efficiently in the operating theatre to mentoring her junior colleagues, Ms Yong has played a big part in our GKL team. We are more than grateful to have her with us even after 25 years.

This year, Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur celebrates its 25th Anniversary. We are proud to have been a part of this community for over two decades, serving your healthcare needs for 25 years.
