This includes machines such as, Mona Lisa for prostate biopsy and Cori for total knee replacement. As a result, Gleneagles Hospital Johor has transitioned from traditional open surgery to minimally invasive surgery, reducing the percentage of open surgery procedures from 38% to 17% between 2019 to 2023. This transition has not only reduced complications but also contributed to a lower morbidity rate among patients. Currently, more than 60% of surgeries at our hospital are conducted through minimally invasive techniques facilitating the rapid return of many members of society to their communities, enabling them to contribute in meaningful ways to society as needed.
Being the only hospital that can perform Minimally Invasive Surgery Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (MIS CABG) in the southern region of Malaysia, Gleneagles Hospital Johor has become the exclusive facility offering this advanced procedure. Through MIS CABG, patients undergoing surgery can resume their daily activities within just one week, ensuring swift recovery and minimal disruption to their lives afforded by this innovative approach.
