The Diagnostic Imaging Department provides a diverse range of radiographic services, provisioned by a host of state-of-the-art modern equipment. Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu is equipped with the 160 slices Aquilion Prime CT Scanner, the scanner with a lower dose of radiation that allows for accurate calcium scoring in Coronary Arteries.
Our 1.5 Tesla MRI Scanner is able to deliver exceptional MRI quality and speed, allowing for the production of excellent image quality with up to 40$ reduction in scan times whilst keeping patients relaxed and comfortable.
Our cardiovascular X-ray system allows for high-quality images across a full spectrum of both cardiac and vascular interventions. It is able to capture information at a resolution four times greater than conventional X-ray systems at lower radiation doses. With a dedicated pediatric setting, our X-ray dose management also helps manage the exposure for our younger patients ensuring long-term safety.
Gleneagles Hospitals Kota Kinabalu boasts an R/F system with the ability to perform a wide variety of applications from gastrointestinal, to iodine and vascular procedures as well as standard radiography. With excellent X-ray dose reduction features, our patients are also protected as well as the surrounding environment.
As an examination for breast tissue, this imaging technique uses low dose X-rays to produce internal images of the breasts and is usually used in breast cancer screening to detect the presence of tumours.
An enhanced form of X-ray technology, bone densitometry is an imaging procedure used to measure bone loss. This examination is more often used to diagnose osteoporosis, a condition involving the gradual loss of calcium. It can
also be used to detect structural changes which may cause the bones to become thinner, more fragile and prone to breaking. This test is also effective in tracking the effects of treatment for osteoporosis and other conditions
that cause bone loss.
